Metis and EMSTAR Team Up in Georgia
Metis is pleased to announce that in partnership with EMSTAR Research, an Atlanta-based research and evaluation firm and long-time colleague, our two firms’ credentials in grant development and program evaluation have been vetted and pre-approved by the Georgia System for Procurement Equity (GSPE).
In February, Metis and EMSTAR responded to a Request for Bids issued by the GSPE to identify a pool of preferred vendors for multiple, potential grant evaluation opportunities for the school districts and other grantees they represent. We were recently notified that we were among the firms to have received the coveted GSPE designation. Our selection allows a coalition of 11 county-wide school districts and their non-profit partners to contract with Metis-EMSTAR for grant evaluation services without going through a separate procurement process (i.e., Request for Bids or Proposals). The 11 school districts are Bibb County Schools, Bremen County Schools, Calhoun County Schools, Carroll County Schools, Douglas County Schools, Haralson County Schools, Heard County Schools, Jasper County Schools, Paulding County Schools, Polk County Schools, and Walton County Schools. In addition, even if a school system or non-for-profit organization is not part of the GSPE coalition, the non-GSPE organization may also contract with Metis-EMSTAR for grant evaluation services under this procurement vehicle.
For the past 21 years, EMSTAR and Metis have worked collaboratively to evaluate the Georgia Family Connection Partnership, a non-profit, public-private intermediary that supports a network of community collaboratives operating in all 159 counties to improve conditions for Georgia’s children and families. Over the years, the EMSTAR-Metis partnership has produced numerous outcome reports and identified quality improvement practices and policies needed in order to move the Georgia agenda of child and family development forward. Metis and EMSTAR look forward to building on the work they have done together as well as independently for the children, families, and communities in the State of Georgia.
